It is the morning after the announcement that Apple Computer visionary and CEO, Steve Jobs, died. The web is ablaze with tributes. Here’s one that speaks to just how important and respected Mr. Jobs was. I hopped over to the Amazon.com site a moment ago and in simple letters in the upper right hand corner is “Steve Jobs. 1955-2011.” Amazon.com is a direct competitor with Apple. They just launched a low-priced tablet that aims, eventually, to take a big share of the tablet and content market that Apple invented, but that little tribute is a direct link to the Apple web site, and thus to all the Apple content and products. That’s a pretty powerful—and fitting—tribute to the man who helped create the very market in which they thrive.
