Pictured here is the kitchen table as it looks for the devotion part of my morning routine. You might notice the little coffee mug on the right. I like a couple mugs of coffee in the morning. This has been a part of my morning routine for many years.
Not pictured is the mug of coffee on the shelf in the shower.
This has been a part of my wife’s morning routine for past few months.
Why did I not think of this sooner???
I’m the morning person: up at 5am, moving slowly through shower, getting dressed, making coffee, getting out the pharmacy for allergy pill and vitamins, having my juice and cereal, sitting down for morning devotions. I like a slow morning, but I like to get up. On the other hand, my wife resents the morning like an occupying army.
I don’t know why it took me over fifteen years, but some time in the last few months I discovered that when my wife receives a fresh cup of hot coffee with her special creamer soon after she wakes then in it turns her from a rebel into an ally. Miraculous!
Now, if I can just get the pre-teen to like coffee…
